Featured Professor Sam Totten spoke on genocide in Darfur. Members were welcomed to attend for an informal discussion with Sam Totten, the editor of the Encyclopedia of Genocide and Professor at the University of Arkansas who has just returned from a trip to Chad, where he was seeking information on the current situation in Darfur, Sudan.

September 27 — Annual High School Symposium
The Colorado Springs World Affairs Council sponsored its 18th annual High School Symposium in Armstrong Hall on the campus of Colorado College. Approximately 182 high school students representing 12 local schools attended along with 21 teachers and staff. The topic of this year’s symposium was “Close Together But Far Apart: The U.S. and Latin America”, and Professor Juan Lindau from Colorado College delivered the keynote address to the students.
